Sentinel is a drone imaging and engineering company founded in Kourou in 2015. Our teams work from French Guiana, Martinique and Brazil.

- 2015Sentinel is founded in Kourou.
- 2016First missions at the Guiana Space Centre, among the first drone operators deployed on the base.
- 2018First aerial campaigns on the Ariane 6 launch complex construction at the Guiana Space Centre.
- 2019Expansion to the Caribbean from the Château Gaillard estate in Trois-Îlets.
- 2020First LiDAR missions.
- 2022Inspection of a dam in Brazil at 0.8 mm per pixel.
- 2023Virtual tour of the Ariane 6 launch complex for CNES.
- 2026A new LiDAR joins the fleet, and a two-year contract in Brazil for the Juquiá complex.

Fleet
Around fifteen multirotor drones, from compact quadcopters to heavy-lift carriers for LiDAR, and an Elistair Safe-T tethered drone for long surveillance missions.
Sensors
Multi-return LiDAR, full-frame photogrammetry payloads, radiometric thermal cameras, Insta360 Titan 360° camera, RTK GNSS.
Software
Networked Agisoft Metashape, ContextCapture, Global Mapper, QGIS, AutoCAD, plus our own tools: Sentinel Cloud and Sentinel Thermal Tool.
Regulatory framework
Operator registered with the French civil aviation authority (DGAC), up-to-date operations manual, pilots holding the STS theoretical certificate (CATS). Guiana Space Centre procedures, SORA risk assessments, ongoing relationship with the DSAC. Flights over populated areas notified to the civil aviation authority, prefectoral orders when required; in Brazil, operations conducted under ANAC, DECEA and ANATEL rules.

Elistair, Delair, Parrot and Hexadrone, for missions that call for European-designed equipment.
Team
Certified drone pilots based in Kourou and Martinique, quickly available across the three territories.
Management
Sentinel is led by Guillaume Berthier, co-founder and president. An ESTACA engineering graduate, he began his career at the Guiana Space Centre before setting up the company in Kourou.
He personally follows every request, from the first conversation to delivery.
