Crique Fouillée: 2.8 km of creek in 15 mm orthophoto to prepare dredging
For the urban community’s stormwater service, a condition survey of an urban creek between Cayenne and Matoury: georeferenced orthophoto, mapping of debris jams and machine access points, video of the whole stretch.

Background
Crique Fouillée flows into the Cayenne river. Ahead of maintenance and dredging works, the urban community’s stormwater structures unit wanted a condition survey from the Crique Fouillée roundabout, on the boundary between Cayenne and Matoury, down to the mouth: where the debris jams, trees, branches and other obstacles are, what condition the banks are in and where an excavator will be able to reach the bed.
What we did
The request was for photos and a video; we proposed adding an orthophoto of a 50 m strip on either side of the creek axis, from the roundabout to the mouth: every debris jam is located in coordinates and distances can be measured directly. On 10 September 2026 the drone was flown from the roundabout for the upstream part, then from a dugout canoe for the stretch near the mouth, with two agents of the service on board. Delivered on 15 September: 15 mm orthophoto in ECW, plan of debris jams and bank access points, video of the stretch in two versions, one of them with the GPS position, and access to the orthophoto on Sentinel Cloud for twelve months. In October 2026 the urban community ordered the same survey for the Cabassou creek and the North-South canal, in Rémire-Montjoly.
