Sentinel Cloud for solar power plants

The thermography module delivers a complete inspection: radiometric infrared orthophoto overlaid on the visible image, defects annotated panel by panel, a plant summary and PDF reports. Your teams find every anomaly on the plan, with its temperature and access route.

What the thermography module does

Infrared, visible or both

IR orthophoto, RGB orthophoto or split view; palettes (White Hot by default) and adjustable high and low thresholds to bring out deviations.

Measured temperatures

Temperature reading at any point; minimum, maximum and average computed on every annotated area.

Eleven defect types

Hotspot, hotspot constellation, module, missing module, cracked module, bypass diode, string cut, shading or soiling, vegetation, connectors or junction box, suspected PID; four severity levels.

Panel grid

Panels drawn as a rectangular or trapezoidal grid on the orthophoto; each defect is attached to its panel.

Plant summary

Total panels, defective panels, operational panels and operational rate, breakdown by defect type and severity.

Mission settings

Camera, thermal resolution, focal length, IR and RGB ground resolution, date, irradiance, plant power and surface, projection, acquisition, processing, verification and validation: everything is recorded in the project and reused in the reports.

Three PDF exports

Detailed report with the list of annotations, their temperatures and a zoom per defect; summary report; map layout in the chosen format and resolution.

In the field

Download of annotations (panels and miscellaneous) and a directions link to each defect for the maintenance team.

One plant, in figures

695 kWp ground-mounted plant in Le Carbet (Martinique), inspected on 17 June 2026 with a 640 × 512 radiometric thermal camera. The report was approved the day after the flight.

Examples of deliverables

Who uses it

Plant operators and developers in the French West Indies and French Guiana, rooftop photovoltaic installers and drone operators delivering their own campaigns: 18 thermography projects were online in October 2026.

  • Ground-mounted and rooftop plants, from 0.5 to 10 hectares
  • Annual campaigns compared as sub-projects
  • In line with IEC TS 62446-3 for thermal inspection

Frequently asked questions

What thermal ground resolution?

From 3 to 5 cm per pixel in infrared depending on flight height, with a visible orthophoto twice as fine; irradiance is checked with a solarimeter during the flight (at least 600 W/m²).

Can I correct or add annotations?

Yes. Authorised users add points and polygons, change the type or severity, comment, then regenerate the report.

What about building roofs?

The same module is used for rooftop installations, with a prior measurement of the building when the installation is still to come.
