Sentinel Cloud for power networks
The pylon inspection module presents a line structure by structure: the photos of each pylon, oriented and positioned, the anomalies found with their level, and the lines drawn on the map. Operations teams prepare their work without going back on site.

What the pylon inspection module does
Pylon-by-pylon visit
Each structure has its record: position, photos of the head, cross-arms, insulators, legs and joints, taken at a known heading and height.
Annotated anomalies
Twelve anomaly types, including corrosion, nesting, structural cracks, bolting, insulators and vegetation: each anomaly is boxed on the photo, rated on four severity levels and tracked until it is closed.
Lines on the map
Inspected structures and line sections appear on the project map as soon as you zoom in.
Downloadable photos
The photos of one pylon or of the whole visit can be downloaded as an archive for your maintenance files.
Inspection report
PDF report with the list of anomalies per structure, their level and the corresponding photos, in addition to online access.
One inspection, in figures
Five wooden-pole supports of a 90 kV line at Matiti (Macouria, French Guiana), inspected on 3 June 2026 for Omexom.
| Photos | 511 |
|---|---|
| Anomalies found | 106 |
| By type | 30 corrosion, 30 nesting, 14 structural cracks, 5 bolting, 26 other (mostly termites) |
| By level | 7 low, 97 medium, 2 high, 0 critical |
Our experience of power lines
In 2024 our teams photographed 1,262 supports along 128 km of medium-voltage lines in French Guiana, in 19 flying days and up to 99 supports a day. In 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2023 we also inspected the power-line supports of the Guiana Space Centre.
- Medium-voltage, 63 kV and 90 kV lines, in forest and savanna
- Doubt-removal visits after a fault
- Detailed part-by-part inspection: 178 photos for one 63 kV pylon, 511 for five wooden supports
Frequently asked questions
Does the line need to be switched off?
Not for an inspection: in 2024, on the medium-voltage lines of French Guiana, the drone stayed more than 3 m from each conductor and the flight schedule was sent to the operator’s control engineer. During the June 2026 fault check, the line was already out of service because of the fault.
How do you find an anomaly in the field?
Each photo carries the drone’s position, heading and height; the pylon record indicates the part concerned.
