Coco Banane and Savane des Pères: 26 panoramas to visit two solar plants
Voltalia operates several solar plants in French Guiana. In September 2025 its asset manager ordered a virtual tour and an orthophoto of two of them from us: Coco Banane, in Montsinéry, and Savane des Pères, in Sinnamary. We knew the latter. In 2019 we had produced reconnaissance aerial photos and georeferenced mapping of the land before earthworks, then followed the assembly with a time-lapse until commissioning in October. It combines 3.8 MW of panels with 2.6 MW / 2.9 MWh of battery storage, which allows electricity to be fed into the grid at the evening peak.

Two days of capture
The operations were scheduled on 30 October, and both sites were covered in two consecutive days in early November 2025: aerial and ground panoramas for the tours, vertical photos for the orthophotos.
The panoramas follow the equipment. At Coco Banane there are 12: the entrance, the inverters, the transformer stations, the delivery substation, the control room and two aerial views. At Savane des Pères, 14: the entrance, the site base, the buildings, the battery storage, the transformer and delivery stations, the embankment and the far end of the plant.
Voltalia’s communication department also asked us for video footage of both plants, at 25 frames per second and already colour-graded, for its own edits. It was made available as soon as capture was finished.
Tours online on 10 November
Each tour links the panoramas together and includes a plan taken from the site orthophoto. Both tours went online on 10 November 2025 on our hosting, with an offline version for Windows. On 13 November the asset manager sent us the designation of each piece of equipment: the panoramas were renamed accordingly, PTR1 to PTR4 for the Coco Banane transformer stations for instance, and the tours were updated on the 15th at the same addresses. On 18 November we handed the asset manager the orthophotos of both plants in GeoTIFF format, at 2 cm per pixel, in EPSG 2972, together with the tours’ source files.
The same approach as at Petit-Saut
These two tours follow those we produced for Voltalia at Petit-Saut the same year: the tenth version of the biomass plant construction tour in August, then a 44-panorama tour for the site inauguration in October. The approach does not change: aerial and ground panoramas linked together, a site plan, an online version and an offline version. With the orthophoto delivered alongside, the tour records the state of both plants in November 2025. At Savane des Pères it completes the series begun before earthworks: six years after commissioning, the same site is documented in operation.
